Over the Rainbow is a one store retailer that has been in the jean business for over 40 years. Their extensive knowledge of the denim industry and business management skills has propelled them forward as one of the leading jean retailers in Toronto.

 

With an extensive inventory and a very loyal customer base, they were looking for a retail management system that could not only handle their business but was flexible in order to grow with them. They chose NCR Counterpoint as their retail management solution because "NCR Counterpoint has all the functions in one platform...we can scale it to the size of our business," says Operationas Manager Scott Robinson.

 

NCR Counterpoint's intricate level of reporting data and robust inventory management system was an immediate benefit to Over the Rainbow. Since inventory data is updated in real time, the system provides accurate data throughout the day and reduces the risk of oversell in their online store. They're able to track their very detailed inventory management system. Owner Joel Carman explains: "It's important to us to analyze items to their smallest component. With NCR Counterpoint, we're able to assign each item its own SKU number and the (inventory) matrix allows us to track all details: size, colour, brand, etc."

 

NCR Counterpoint's Automated Purchasing functionality saves their staff a lot of time and minimizes risk for inventory error. "The purchase order system is a key component. Thanks to automatic updates, we know what we have on the floor at all times and it's easy to enter a new order request."

 

Over the Rainbow also uses purchase information to send targeted emails with the integrated email marketing tool, NCR Customer Connect. By using customer purchasing data, they're able to target campaigns to specific customers to encourage them back to the store. They can even track how successful each campaign is by seeing the dollar amount spent in store following each targeted email. Over the Rainbow also uses the integrated eCommerce platform, NCR Retail Online, and NCR RealPOS XR7 hardware to round out their full retail management solution.
